How is January 2024 invoiced?
To help you understand the invoices you have received, we have prepared two model situations that may arise.👇
As we have already announced in advance, we are increasing the prices for our services from 1.1.2024 (detailed reasons can be found here).
At the same time, we had to ensure this change technically, so the invoice you receive may be slightly confusing at first glance. Below you will find specific model examples explaining how the price is calculated.
We also remind you that the minimum number of licenses according to the terms and conditions is 10.
Example 1: Your billing period is NOT from the 1st to the 1st.
Your billing period was set e.g. from 26.11. to 26.12., then from 26.12. to 26.1. etc.
You will receive an invoice on 27 January which may look like this:
Explanation:
- Line 1: new price for the next billing period from 26.1. to 26.2.
- Line 2: The pro-rata portion of the price for unused original licenses in January has been deducted (or you have been refunded for old prices that are no longer valid). Therefore, there are negative values on this line.
- Line 3: Subsequently, for the same period (2 January – 26 January), the pro-rata payment for the licences was calculated according to the new rate.
Example 2: Your billing period IS set from the 1st to the 1st.
Your billing period was set from 1.11. to 1.12., then from 1.12. to 1.1. etc.
In this case, the same mechanism as in the first example applies. On 1.2.2024, you will receive an invoice that may look like this:
Explanation:
- Line 1: new price for the next billing period from 1.2. to 1.3.
- Line 2: The pro-rata portion has been deducted from the price for unused original licenses in January (or you have been refunded for old prices that are no longer valid). Therefore, there are negative values on this line.
- Line 3: Subsequently, the pro-rata payment for the licences has been calculated retrospectively for the period from 2 January to 1 February at the new rate.
We would like to assure you that you are in no way overpaying more than you should. We understand that the amount on the invoice dated 1.2.2024 may look higher than usual, but this is due to the mechanism described above.
Note: The start of the period on 2.1 is set because it was necessary to „retrain” the system to the new prices. We had to do this re-learning on 2.1 (due to the public holiday on 1.1). The first day of January is free.
